Weddings and General Questions
CAN I TELEPHONE YOU?
Many people ask why we no longer have our 0800 number or a phone number any-more, it's simply because we are too busy to answer calls and we found that we actually didn't provide a good service via the phone as sometimes we couldn't return messages for days, due to on-line bookings being so heavy. So we have changed to on-line bookings/questions/service only and we find it is much more efficient, and because everything is in writing, there is no room for error or miscommunication. We all live busy lives and the bod squad are always working, we don't want to make any mistakes by 'forgetting' to call you back because we get run off our feet! So I hope that helps - when your booking is confirmed we will supply you with the mobile of the therapist/artist attending your service if required. Feedback from our on-line service has been exceptional! :-)
ON THE DAY, WHAT SHOULD I DO, HAVE PREPARED?
If your booked services is for Hair or Make Up; when we arrive we like to get stuck in to beautify you straight away - so please have FRESHLY WASHED (either the night before or on the morning) CLEAN ABSOLUTELY DRY HAIR with no product in AND if you have naturally curly. frizzy or super wavy hair, you will need to iron your hair smooth to allow us to smooth-curl and style - we also need you to have FRESH CLEAN SKIN, moisturising is fine. We allow a certain amount of time for every treatment so when we arrive it's best to not waste time and possible additional unexpected costs by not having dry hair :-) Also please make sure you're wearing a top that can be removed without messing up your hair or make up if you are needing to change (eg: Weddings! :-)).
WILL YOU TRAVEL TO WAIHEKE, OMAHA ETC?
YES we sure will! We come to where you would like us to come - Auckland wide, including Waiheke Island, Omaha, Matakana, Point Wells, Waiuku, Waimauku, Bethells Beach, will travel further if required. ... as long as the travel is paid for we are all yours. For example - to Waiheke your travel cost will be $100 per artist, this includes a return ferry ticket, parking in the viaduct as well as stand down time on the ferry. Once we are there you will need to organise someone to pick us up and drop us off at the wharf or provide a pre-paid taxi arrangement.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR HAIR AND MAKE UP?
Mostly we require a minimum of 90 minutes for hair & makeup and 60 minutes for either hair or make-up only.
FOR MY WEDDING BOOKING DO I HAVE TO HAVE A TRIAL AND IF SO WHEN IS BEST?
No you don't, if you trust us (yes we know what we are doing) and have a clear idea on what you would like - however if you are in the slightest bit unsure, we highly recommend a trial. We also recommend that you have your trial a few weeks before the wedding, this way you are unlikely to change your mind and can feel very assured that what you have just had is what you will look like on your wedding day. If you are unsure of your booking and want to make sure that the Artist we send is the right person for you - we recommend having the Trial at least 3 months prior to your wedding day to allow for our booking terms and conditions.
IS THERE A TRAVEL FEE?
In the normal course, no - however if your booking incurs a travel fee for us (such as parking or ferry fares) then this is payable by you and if the travel time is over 30 minutes for us, then we charge a rate of $30 per 10 minutes - one way.
We calculate this using travel times advised on the google maps website + 15 minutes for traffic. For example, travel from our HQ to Papakura is 25 minutes, 15 minutes traffic time is added so the total time one way is 40 minutes - the travel fee to Papakura therefore is $30. If you would like clarification then please feel free to contact us. Sometimes this fee is waived, according to the value of the booking.
CAN I COME TO YOU?
Generally we come to you but we do have a little Beauty Room which you can come to if you don't want your fiance to see you whilst at home. This is upon request only.
DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
Bookings are confirmed with a 30% deposit upon booking. Our only reason for doing this, is that the bod squad are in high demand, and other clients will been turned away should we be fully booked at the time and date of your booking. Please make sure you read our bookings terms and conditions before completing the booking form.

WHAT COSMETICS DO YOU USE, AND CAN I BUY THEM?
Mostly we use our own brand of cosmetics - they are mineral based, and specifically manufactured for make-up artists, we have spent years making sure these are the best products and that last through-out the entire day and now we have made them available to the public - 'Pretty Costmetics'. Your bod squadee is able to sell you any product you may like although there are additions that are not included - for the latest click the gossip section on www.beautyondemand.co.nz and there are always updates available. Our Artists also use a mix of M.A.C and Smashbox.
DO YOU DO OTHER SERVICES?
The bod squad are professionals in a number of fantastic treatments - see other pages of this website for the full range, which includes spray tanning, manicures, pedicures, waxing, hair extensions (clip in), massaging, facials, tinting ... and so much more.
HOW LONG DOES HAIR AND MAKEUP TAKE?
Makeup and Hair generally takes 90 minutes - if you have extra long hair it can take up to 2 hours. We suggest the bride gets ready second to last so in the last hour you can enjoy the moment, have a glass of bubbles and relax whilst putting on your dress and veil (which we help with) rather than rushing through everything. Your photographer may want to take pictures earlier so ask them what time they need you and work out your schedule with them firstly then let us know when you have to be ready.
I HAVE A LARGE BRIDAL PARTY, WILL THERE BE MORE b.o.d squad LADIES HELPING?
There certainly will be, we put as many of the b.o.d squad ladies as you need! We generally always bring along trained assistants to help us as well. You need not worry - we're hear to serve.
