Their Story

The Road to I Do

We first met at the Langham Hotel, where we both work and have grown in Love over the last 4 years. The pursuit was gradual, gentle and based on a friendship which blossomed over time. The odds were stacked as Victoria is young vibrant and stunning, very popular with the boys, and Brian older, wiser and more refined like a fine wine – one of those bold daring types that catch you by surprise and are hard to resist. We share a love of the finer things in life. One of these being dining out and a small renowned K’Rd icon Sri Penang was our go to on almost a weekly basis, where the owner Angie was most supportive of the match. Our latest favourite is Oyster & Chop but don’t tell Angie.

Adventures in Queenstown, Wanaka, Hong Kong, Christchurch, Shenzhen, Hoi An, the beautiful Hawkes Bay, Gold Coast and Fiji have culminated in a shared love of travel and all things indulgent. Brians love of art and sport has seen dates which included Art openings & auctions, All Black tests, Shakespeare’s Pop up Globe, Stomp, Black Caps T20, Cirque du Soliel and Fashion Shows. The only date that is considered an epic fail was a ski trip to Cadorna where Brian managed to injure himself badly enough to be helicoptered off the mountain. Cool views on the way to hospital though…
Victoria on the other hand had the distinct displeasure of having to drive the Devil’s Staircase to collect the invalid from hospital in Invercargill.
Victoria’s love of bikinis, beaches and cocktails not to mention the odd spa day has seen us experience this aspect in all the destinations we venture.
In keeping with this theme, Brian chose to propose at sunset, in the Waitui Beach Club on the tropical Fijian Island of Denarau and we celebrated with around 70 strangers who were in the near vicinity – It was cocktails after all.

Our wedding day was a truly magical day.

The bridal party looked absolutely stunning thanks to the Beauty On Demand team who did an amazing job and made the first part of my big day so stress free.
The ceremony and reception was held at Mantells in Mount Eden and we had our first look at the old Auckland railway station.
Having a first look was a great idea, we simply loved the fact that we had a private moment to see each other for the first time, prior to the ceremony.
A special touch we added to commemorate Victoria’s late father was to include a family photo, one of the last ones taken with him and had his favourite flower “cherry blossoms” on a small display table where the candle was lit just before Victoria walked down the aisle.
The favourite part of our day was when our friend’s young son opening up the dance floor by performing the first dance of the evening to Gangnam Style. He was so excited, and it brought everyone together on a day where all you wish for is for all your friends and family to share in your happiness.
The road ahead is unknown and sure to be filled with many more wonderful experiences but the one thing we are both sure of is we are going to have fun.

Congratulations! to this beautiful couple on the classic wedding of their dream! We are so much in love with this new family and their photos xx
